FYI: Fondaparinux( Arixtra)

New. Fondaparinux is not a heparin,its a pentasaccharide that blocks Factor Xa. Need only one dose per day while heparin and Lovenox require multiple doses. Indications and contraindications still being worked out. Not yet approved for "bridging". Right now approved for post op orthopedic and general surgery,and DVT.
