Did I ever mention that I got my EMT certification????

Couldn't remember if I did and I rarely pop in here these days.

A little update if anyone cares:

First off, we're still not in the house yet. Still painting and remodleing where we can. We had the electric redone, brand new breaker box and mainline from the utility pole into the house. House had substandard electric and we didn't know it until we asked an electrician about putting in a dedicated circuit so my wife could have an electric stove in the kitchen.

That was a shocker... No pun intended, kinda.

Still working on getting a carpenter for a ramp and to widen doors inside the house and MAYBE rebuild the master bathroom so my wife a can have a tub she can use (has CP, can't stand without a walker or a brace of some kind like her husband.... =)

Still in the fire department, had a fire three nights ago at 1:44 in the *%&#^$# morning, spent all night filling air bottles for interior firefighters. Joy...

Oh and the EMT thing, I'm officially an emergency medical technician. Card carrying member and everything.

The coolest part though is I'm certified for CPR with an AED. I'll probably never use that, but I'm cleared for it and personally, I think EVERYONE that can be should be.

I have a Red Cross certification for it, fairly easy to get and AED's are becoming more an more popular in public spaces like schools and such.

Lessee, I'm also a full-time reporter now, with my own desk even. Still do the photo thing when it comes up, mostly for my own stories but not all the time.

Kid turns 6 in about 10 days, yikes!!!

Oh, and I got my insurance changed some, I have prescription coverage now. Yippieee!!!!

Half a month's pay was going to medication, now it won't.

Hope all's well with everyone else, take care, don't be eatin' the yellow snow!!!

:D

Congrats on a job well done! And for providing a much needed service. It is often a thankless and unappreciated job that you do.

You reminded me that I am due for EMT recertification in July, this is my 22nd year, although I became in-active after a stroke 8 years ago:( . I miss EMT calls sometimes, don't miss dragging hose in 10 below zero weather. I still get to teach First Aid-CPR and Emergency Driving, what a blast!

Take care, good luck, and keep up the good work.

well, goodness me, there's Harpoon. Good to see you, Child. How far you've come since 'that' time. And so busy. You did tell us you got your EMt certification - congratulations. You sound very busy - just like most young folks these days.

Your lettle one's coming up on SIX? Gosh, times does fly. Marriage and grandchildren can't be far off. No kidding.

The house will come along and you will be tickled to finally get in it.

Tell Jill we say hey. Thanks for coming in; we always like to hear how members' lives progress afterward and your stories are so interesting. Yours and Jill's life sounds great and we are proud. Blessins.....

It's good to see you posting again. I know with everything that you are doing in life, you have to be so busy. Deep down I always wanted to be an EMt, really I wanted to be a nurse but now I'm too old and have too many health problems, so I'll just glory in your accomplishments. I still volunteer on Wednesday in ICU. I work all day (8-3) and when I get home I'm compeltely wore out. Thanks for keep us informed and keep up the good work! !

We too are remodeling. What a mess! ! We have completely built two houses from the ground up and remodeled two. (all by ourselves) I told my husband the other day, I don't want to do this anymore, we're getting way too old for this. We are real country folks so we have put up wood ceilings and cedar log siding inside for the walls. We love the looks of this. I'll be so glad to be done. We started last June and hopefully we'll be done by this June. My husband is a fisherman and he missed most of last year, so we had better be done or it will have to wait till winter. Ugh! ! Good luck on your remodeling. It will be worth it in the end.

Jill???

Who's Jill???

:D

Wife's name is Erica, son's name is Patrick.

No worries. ;)
