My DW fell down coming up our front stairs this afternoon, and ambulance took her to ER. We're just back. Diagnosis is a definitely fractured shoulder. It's in a sling and hope is it will heal in 8-12 weeks without surgery to insert pins.

I probably will be scarce here for a while. Prayers/good thoughts appreciated. And Happy Thanksgiving.

Aw. This has been some year for you two... I'm sorry.

Shoulder injuries can be so painful. I hope she is resting comfortably.

Once in awhile it's good to know about all the deli and carry-out restaurants close by because you never know when you will need them. I hope she won't feel like she has to do much for Turkey Day, and neither should you. That's why those places exist. So cuddle up together and let someone else (family or other) do the work this weekend and just be glad that a sling and a wobble is all you had to endure this year, even though it does seem like a lot!!

Very best wishes and good thoughts coming your way.

Marguerite

Ouch! I can almost feel her pain! I am so sorry to hear this, fractures can be so painful!

My prayers to you my friend & your wife & I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving too despite the current situation. I hope your DW wasn't planning on cooking?
:(

OUCH!...that sounds painful, hope they sent her home with a supply of painkillers...I guess its your turn to play nurse again...

I am sure you will get plenty of instructions on how to cook ther perfect Turkey for Thanksgiving!...

Many prayers for a speedy recovery for your dear wife.

My gosh- That is terrible. It's time for your guys to have some sunshiny days, not more clouds. Please be careful yourself. God Bless

I'm so sorry to read this Bob. I hope she's not in too much pain and can rest comfortably.
Take care and update us when you can.
Happy Thanksgiving!:)

Oh my, Superbob & DW, we're so sorry to hear this. Take care of your wife and don't worry about us; we'll be here for you though. Prayers are being offered for a complete recovery.

Man what is it this year? Me and gout, now you and yours with a fracture, my buddy called last night and was in the ER Saturday night with pneumonia. He called another buddy who was on his way to pick up another to take to the ER. This IS NOT our holiday season!

Good luck Bob and even though it all sucks at the moment, Happy Thanksgiving.

Dear Super

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and DW....Hopefully she wasn't doing Thanksgiving!!! If so, you may have to use your Superbob powers and whip up a fantastic dinner!!!

Hoping all will be well and it will heal on its own.

Evelyn

Superbob, I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope it does heal without surgery. There is never a convenient time for these kind of things but this season is especially busy. Maybe you could just pare down things down the next few months and take a breather as much as possible. Please tell your dear wife how much we all want her to do well. You are in my prayers too.

Ouch!!! Pure and Simple
I thought I was the only one that fell "up" the stairs?

Hope its just a small fracture and it heals up quickly.
Prayers to you both.

So sorry to hear about the broken shoulder. I broke mine 9 years ago today. My 3 year old grandson got his first ride in an ambulance. Surgery was done by a cute little hand surgeon. She actually drilled holes in the many pieces and stitched them together. When an x-ray is taken of my shoulder it looks like a puzzle. I now have almost full motion. It will get better but it does take time. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife. Who gets the honor of cooking Thanksgiving Dinner???

So sorry to hear this and prayers and thoughts out to both

Praying for a speedy nonpainful recovery.

I am very sorry to hear about this. I'm sure it must be painful. Just order out something and forget about cooking. Maybe when your friends and neighbors hear about this they will bring some food over.

Take are of yourself as well.

oh, no, right here at holidays. I bet she is more than in pain - upset, too. You better study up on your recipes so you can take over the kitchen and the house chores (actually you should know all that already) Best thoughts for her and hope she has an easy time of it.
