When I first met Shannon, I was amazed at the kindness, expertise, and intellect that was contained in one not so large woman with piercing blue eyes. She seemed to be able to organize the world with an ease that I found surprising. Shannon helped my son, time and time again, at a job that he needed, wanted, and was well prepared for in just some areas. She helped him jump the political hoops that one finds in a new position.

Years later, when he opened his own business, Sonny hired Shannon as his administrative assistant....and she was wondeful. This young mother of three was taken to hospital by her husband two weeks ago today because she had trouble with gallstones. They operated to remove the problem and she returned home the next day. She returned to the hospital emergency room twice before they readmitted her...At first, and second they said she had gas. Friday, they operated because there was trouble with her liver caused by the first laproscopic operation..it was lacerated.. and she then had pancretitis. She was in constant pain.

Tonight she is in intensive care and there is talk about air evacing her to another hospital in Phoenix. We do know what that means.

Please , if you will, send what ever prayers, kind words, messages, and the like for this good woman who is too very young to leave her children and family. Thank you.

Absolutely, Blanche. This is tragic.

Joe also had his liver lacerated during laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. He did survive, but it was by a thread, and it took him perhaps 6 months or more to recover. He had a total bleedout and was in ICU for many days.

May God bless her.

Blanche, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I too pray for her and send wishes for a good outcome.
