Would you explain what you meant about Plavix being a strange medicine and mostly marketing dreams?
My husband is on Plavix and I have never understood why the nurse says it is the very best anticoagulant. I thought we valvers had that in Coumadin. And if that is so why don't we all use it.
Apparently, from your statement you don't agree.
Thanks.

Missy until Al comes along, Plavix works on the blood cells differently then Coumadin does. It acts more like a lubricant to the surface so that platelets and such cannot stick and clump together. I'll let Al give the real deal on it, but it's entirely different in the way it works.

i have never liked the med plavix. and sure enough my uncle started bleeding bad on it 2 yrs ago.they had called about it to me and i informed him the side effects of plavix is GI bleeding. next day went to dr. and they took him off it. this year my dad hemorraged (both ends). i told him to tell dr. to take him off plavix! he said the dr. already had thoughts that it was the plavix that made him hemorrhage. so off it goes on his med list! :) i say :plavix beware.
