Does anyone know of a site similar to this one that is for foot & ankle reconstructive surgery? I've only been able to find Drs. and basic info or medical publications that I can't understand, so I figured I wasn't using the right search words.

I did a research last year for knee replacement for a friend. that's what I typed in search: knee replacement and up came all sorts of information, even diagrams and pictures of the surgery. Hope the above helps you - it's got to be there. Everything else in the world is on the net, so it must be, too. Keep us posted on what's happening with your feet/ankles.

Actually, it isn't my ankle. Last Friday, while leaving a football game, my wife slipped on a hill going toward the parking lot and broke three different bones at her right ankle and dislocated the joint. We're going in for surgery tomorrow to install plates and screws to help the bones heal properly. I was looking for a site like VR where we can find out what to expect after surgery, success rates, is there physical therapy (sort of like cardiac rehab), etc.

My mom fell down the stairs 20+ years ago and broke three bones in her ankle. She has 7 stainless steel pins in her ankle. It is a bit larger than the other ankle and somewhat arthritic. If she is on it all day (i.e. marathon shopping trip or climbs a mountain) it swells, but it doesn't keep her from doing anything. (Of course she's not a runner, but she has been a fairly rigorous bike rider and occasional mountain climber/hiker.) Her doctors said she recovered more quickly than anyone had before--they credit her organ playing. Those pedals were a great work-out.
