Hi I don't know if everyone is aware of this group Angel food ministires. I have never used them, since there isn't a host group near by, but know others that have. basically there is a menu each month w/ lots of meat , pasta, rice, eggs fruit ect, you pay 25 for a box that has about 50 or more dollars worth of food,
this is the june menu
(1) 2.5 lbs Pork Spare Ribs
(1) 4 lbs IQF Thighs or Drumsticks
(4) 4 oz Hamburger Patties
(1) 3 lbs Breaded Frying Chicken
(1) 1 lb Fully Cooked Meat Balls
(1) 2 lbs Chicken Breast
(1) 15 oz Chicken Pot Pie Soup
(1) 24 oz Roasted Potatoes with Garlic and Onion
(1) 16 oz Pasta
(1) 16 oz Rice
(1) 16 oz Baked Beans
(1) 16 oz Corn
(1) 20 oz BBQ Sauce
(1) 7.5 oz Pancake Mix
(1) 12 oz Peanut Butter
(1) Dozen Eggs
(1) Dessert Item

then they have different special you can get each month.
ANYONE can use them, there is not income level. you just check for a host in your area, usually a church group , and sign up each month.
I know w/ medical bills gas for doc appts ect it is hard so thought maybe this could help someone, Lyn

Thanks for sharing this, Lyn............

I wish we could put this in some sort of resources or assistance forum. I'll try and hang on to it, but I never can find anything when I need it. Many hugs. J.

Wow, I like that..but none near me, but 1 near my son..I am sending him this info..he has 3 little ones and every penny counts!!!Thanks!:)

there is one here within a few miles of my home. It is open to anyone. All they have to do is go get it. For $25, it's $70 worth of food (here). That's quite a list, Lyn. We didn't know what is in the package. Sounds like a bargain to me.

ours is a religious (no special denomination) one. Their ad was inserted in our bulletin a couple weeks ago. It is non-profit. Non-profits apply for/receive govt. grants. This is a good program. I never see many cars at ours so I don't know how much it has caught on here. Maybe, in time.

Years ago when the free cheese program began, my boss and I ran it in our county one day every month. We had thousands apply and receive the cheese and whatever else we could get from the govt. (butter, flour). I have heard it is about to be ended. That's too bad. Many people benefitted from that program.
