follow-up appointment

Well i had my follow-up with my cardiologist yesterday. everything sound good. he took me off metoprolol and will be off the linisopril (spelling) soon too which is the only two beta-blockers i was on. he recommended i check my blood pressure 3 times a week so i bought a meter on the way home. but other that that he said that everything sounds great and even gave me a return to work date of august 3. Most of my discomfort is finally starting to ease and i have been much more active this week. i am still not sleeping any better so he gave me some ambiem as this week the insomnia has gotten worse and normally have to take a nap during the day.
My next follow-up will be in 6 months with my cardio and he said that i don't really need to go see my gp unless she wants me to or 3 months for a check up. So it would seem that things are going well. Now if i could just get the inr in check which hopefully it will be on monday. everything would be good.

Congrats.......I have my six week with the cardio July 6......I too hope to cut back on the beta blockers and continue to be more active. I am considering cardiac rehab after that appointment. Best wishes for continued healing and that sleeping all night is in the near future for you.

i hope so because i wouldlike to be able to get away without taking the ambien that the cardio prescribed if i could. last night i was up from about 2:30 till almost 4 but atleast that was the only time i woke up last night. I am off to get my inr checked again after checking it on thursday and finding out it was at 1.3 so if it hasn't come back up today the cardio wants me on heparin shots if it is still low. here's hoping that i don't have to start giving myself needles now as everything else is finally going decent.
