My employer was scheduled to have a flu shot clinic 10/26. Five minutes after posting a reminder on Wednesday 10/6, the HR office got a call canceling it because of shortage of the vaccine.

I had a cardiologist appt. 10/7 in Dallas TX, so I went on line with pharmacies there and found one having a clinic. Arrived 90+ minutes early and was already #56 on the list. Some folks arrived 3+ hours early. Got my shot!

I checked out www.walgreens.com. If you're interested in getting the vaccination, check out that website, or other possible providers in your area.

Picked up my Warfarin at local Eckerd's Drug Store today and noticed a post..Flu Shots.$20.00..Oct. 13th 10 a.m. to 3 p.m...Small county..but may be a line too. Bonnie

Did not have luck at my Walgreens. Happy to hear you received your shot. I was 169 and they were calling 40. Did not wait long. That location hit the news last night. They ran out. So if I sat there...would have been SOL. My PCP is with a large university hospital. Called today and they will have one for me when I get my physical at the end of the month. My other docs are affiliated with the community hospital and will not be releasing vaccines to the doctors offices. My daughter will most likely not get her shot. Have not yet received a call to cancle the appointment. In a nutshell....guess it pays spread yourself thin as far as having doctors in two locations in a big city like this. Little fish in a big pond. Level of patient service is much better in smaller locations. Have been on both sides of the fence prefer the "smaller" settings for this very reason.

I called our primary care physican, as that is where we normally get our flu shots. They are giving none. I checked online and drug stores in this area are giving flu shots. I had hoped to avoid the long lines!! I don't fit into the category of those eligible, so don't know if it is worth standing in line. My husband has COPD, so he should be eligible. I must admit that I was shocked that our primary care physican isn't giving flu shots. When we were in Williamsburg VA last week, the walk-in clinic was giving flu shots --but I had bronchitis and my husband had pneumonia, so we could not get them at that time.

A year ago, when our daughter was waiting to have mitral valve repair, she asked her cardio about getting flu shot -- her cardio said it was entirely up to her. I was ready to clobber the cardio, as I felt our daughter should have one. But... as it turns out, she didn't get the flu.

There was another thread in Heart Issues regarding flu shots and I wrote this......................

So my husband got his flu shot at work. $5. I called my PCP and they won't be carrying any at all. Cardio's office, same thing. So, I looked on the internet and was able to get a schedule of locations by zip code. Ended up at a Walgreen's about 3 times farther than our closest, but the schedule fit mine and there wasn't even a line at 2:30 pm. They did have a checklist, but when I said I did fall under one of their categories, they just asked which one, heart disease, and they gave me my vaccine. $20.

The American Lung Association has a site. It's www.lungusa.org There's a box right in the middle of the page where you just put in a zip code and get a list with times and phone numbers and everything. More than Walgreens, other locations.

Hopefully this site can help some of you locate a clinic.

Hi All,
I walked into my primary care office on thurday and seen they were packed because of the flu shots. I was there for blood work & allergy shot and asked for the flu shot and had no problem other than a little wait. I ssure don't need the flu with all my other problems. :) I wish everyone else good luck in getting the shot. I think they like getting the public upset rather it about the price of gas or flu shots or the war. It is always something
