My GP is recommending a regime of flaxseed oil caps in hopes to naturally lower my cholesterol. Anyone?

My diet in not be any means rich in fat. Fat is a treat for me:D I did mention the spike in my cholesterol occurred directly after starting the beta blocker. Along with a few unwanted pounds:(

Gina,

There is nothing wrong with fats, as long as they are the RIGHT fats, and Flaxseed oil happens to be one of them. (rich in Omega-3) You can also buy this delicious oil in a bottle from "HEALTH FROM THE SUN". GMO-Free, Herbicide Free, and Pesticide Free. 16.0 FL OZ.
Do you have a 'TRADER JOE'S' where you live? That's where I buy mine, and it's only $6.50 a bottle. I take 1tbs a day. It tastes great and you can use it on your salad as well. Just don't cook with this oil.
I am going in for a cholesterol test in December, and I am curious if the numbers are down. Not that I am too worried because I believe the whole cholesterol thing is a hoax just to sell those expensive drugs, but you know how the doctors are. They keep hounding us about this, so I have to keep him as my friend. LOL!!
