Al advised me that it was safe to do this 5 years ago. I have switched from Coumadin to Taro generic warfarin a month ago.
So far, I notice no difference. Since the change I found my Coaguchek INR right in the therapeutic range at three weekly intervals. I will go back now to my regular routine of checking every two or three weeks. If ever out of range I regulate the dose using the 10% solution. I never "hold".My cost for Coumadin -100 3mgm tablets, is $71.68. The cost for Taro generic warfarin is $46.64.

I had used Barr and like you Marty, I saw no difference whatsoever in INR readings. Some people swear they do, but I still think there are other factors not being recognized in those circumstances.

Me too

Me too

Been on Barr for about 4 years- no difference but the price.

I'm now on Taro warfarin as well. Made the change in January due to *ANOTHER* insurance whim. In less than 2 years, I've been on Coumadin proper, Barr and back more than once. Now Taro.

Saw no difference in my numbers, and my monthly test this morning was in range as usual.

Marty - Thanks for the info. I've got generics on order and will switch in a couple of weeks. Testing once a week for three weeks is what my doc suggested too. Nice to see the professionals agree. Chris

This is really good to know. I have an appointment this month with my cardio and am going to ask about switching to warfarin. Coumadin is getting pretty expensive.
