Hi .. I'm Anthony DiLemme's mother and I promised him I'd write an update after his surgery today. He actually did very well. He is having some incisional discomfort but overall everyone is thrilled. His supposedly 5 hour surgery turned out to be a little under 3. He was on the heart/lung machine for only about 60 minutes. His valve was replaced with an on-x 25 and his aneurysm was removed and the aorta was able to be repaired without using a graft.
Anthony has been asking to walk (crazy) and has been denied . He will most likely be moved to a regular room tomorrow at which time wires and cath will be removed if all goes well tonight. His breathing tube was removed in the recovery room which I was happy about.
I'm sure he will fill you all in on more details as he comes off some of the pain meds. We are so glad to have this behind us and hope for a speedy recovery .

Wonderful! Bests wishes to him for a speedy recovery. One day at a time....

I am sure you can take a big sigh of relief now. Give Anthony our well wishes. Can't wait to hear from him and hear all about his surgery.

Great news. Give Anthony my best. Just remind him that he needs to take it a little slow, build up the strength before he tries to fly over buildings in a single bound. :) Best Wishes for a smooth recovery.

I am so happy for the family of Anthony and for Anthony to have the surgery behind him. I will continue to pray for more good news and successful recovery.

Thanks for sharing the good news with us.

All best wishes Anthony has a smooth, bump free recovery..
