Almost 2 weeks after the J&J vaccine, I had several days of fatigue. I also noticed some discomfort in my heart area, but only when I lay down in bed. No discomfort at all during the day even doing fairly strenuous work. At the time of the vaccination, I had no side effects at all, not even a sore arm.

The fatigue went away after a few days, but I still feel discomfort in my chest, most notably when I first get into bed or when I rolled over. It feels like muscle pain, but it has lasted over a week. No shortness of breath or any other indications it is my heart. I don't notice it all during the day, only when I lie down.

I did a search and found this "Is there a link between the COVID-19 vaccine and heart inflammation?" and this Pentagon Tracking 14 Cases of Heart Inflammation in Troops After COVID-19 Shots. Neither of these articles mentions the J&J vaccine, which is what I had.

Have any of you had a similar problem or aware of a known problem with the vaccines that may be causing this?

just be aware that its hard to nail down location of pain and that heart pain is frequently referred to somewhere else. I would suspect its ribcage musculature

Hi rich01, I hope that it has all settled down. If it hasn’t, you know your body better than anyone else so get it checked out. As you indicated in your post, I would expect shortness of breath to occur from clots or pericarditis. Common things (muscle pain) occur commonly, however be careful because occasionally uncommon things do occur.

I have been doing a lot of physical work and experienced no chest discomfort or shortness of breath. It's only when I lie down that I feel any discomfort and last night it was barely noticeable. Whatever it was, it appears to be over after about 8 or 9 days.

I experienced something similar a week and half ago. I had my second Moderna vaccine on March 18th. When lying down I had extreme discomfort around my left flank and below left ribs, but no shortness of breath. It felt like I had a Spleen mass - with no space in my abdominal area, which was very sensitive to probing. It was very painful trying to sleep on my left or right side.
Went to the ER. They did CT-Scan, X-rays and bloodwork with no findings. No improvement yet for me, except the pain has spread also to my left back area.

Hope you feel better. You might check the VAERS website to see if anyone else has reported the same or similar problem.
