and legs are pitting so bad.. chf has me in a grip again, so I doubled my lasix, have let out 8 lbs so far today..... gosh I hate this....seeing dr t'morrow. I know others are worse, but gads I hate this....

So sorry to hear that you are feeling so badly. I hope that the extra lasix gets rid of even more fluid and that your doc can help more tomorrow. It is an awful feeling, I know. Are you sure you should wait til tomorrow as opposed to going to the ER now? Especially if you are having trouble breathing....IV lasix might help more at this point than the oral meds.

Let us know how you are doing.

I'm so sorry the CHF has decided to visit misery upon you. I've watched Joe go through many episodes of it, and I hate to see him in that condition. He is so uncomfortable, and shortness of breath is scary.

I'm hoping your Lasix is working and I know there are many other things that work very, very well, if that isn't doing the trick. As Nan mentioned, IV Lasix works even better.

I hope with your increased Lasix, your doc is giving you instruction in increasing your K-Dur (potassium) as well.

Hope it resolves fast.

Nancy beat me to it but PLEASE make sure you have enough potassium in your system.

I always know when mine is low because my calves cramp. Since the heart is a muscle too, this always makes me panic. I have a potassium drink to take when that happens to up the levels quickly.

I hope you feel better.

Thankyou, I just took one with my dinner.. will let you know, love Yaps

I certainly know how you are feeling as I am back in CHF again myself, (I gained 5 lbs overnight, my cough is back, and I am SOB and feeling really weak when I first wake up in the morning. I hope you get to feeling better really quickly and please know I am right there with ya. Prayers and Hugs to you. Harrybaby666 :D :D :D :D

Yaps,
My father-in-law frequently encounters the same problem. It's not unheard of for him to drop 15 pounds of fluid, but it's in a hospital setting using IV medication.
Your last post gives me hope that you're slowly getting it taken care of. Let us know how today goes.

Flow freely Yaps, it's the best thing for you
As you contemplate life from your throne
The bad thing is, at least for now
You can't venture too far from home...

Hope everything improves rapidly for you. Take care!

well saw dr, must weigh each day same time(do that already lol)and be back in a week..if not better ..hospital...my inr was great though 3.7..... :p

With all of Joe's fooling around with CHF, we have come to the conclusion that if he gains 4 pounds, then he's in trouble. It doesn't matter if it happens overnight or over a couple of days. That's his final limit before he starts to huff and puff.

He's on Zaroxolyn and Lasix (he's always on a lot of that anyway), extra K-Dur(potassium) too, as we speak, to get rid of four pounds that crept up a half a pound at a time over a few days. He weighs every day first thing in the morning w/o clothing and we keep a log.

He has a terrific card. and NP who we can call at any time to get instructions. The extra diuresis is ALWAYS followed by labwork to check on electrolytes and kidney function.

Nancy, they had me on Zaroxolyn after my ohs, but it made me more a loony than I already am..lol, serious, it gave me a rash and made me very ..uh.. tempermental ..lol , I was furious at the world..and stopped that med fast! Thanks for caring, love the pup

Gee-

Joe's been on it quite a few times, never had anything like that. It just works on his kidneys, enhances his Lasix and gets rid of lots of fluid FAST.

You must have had some kind of allergic reaction. Are you sure it was the Zaroxolyn and not one of the other meds that they can give you after surgery or just the after-effects of surgery in general?

Think it was that one, as I was real bad chf.. couldnt even wear my shoes.. and havent had a reaction like it since..

Nice to hear that

Nice to hear that

Hi Yaps, happy to hear that things are better, and hope that it continues that way. I was worried when I read that you hadn't been feeling well, but when I read your last post, I saw that things had got better. Take care.
Débora

I'm glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better, but so sorry that you are struggling with this so. Please do keep us posted as you know we will be worrying along with you. Hugs. Janet
