Favorite Oktoberfest Beer??

O.k. all Beer lovers, what is your favorite oktoberfest beer?
I did beer tasting today at our local Bev-mo and of course
they were sampling Oktberfest ones.
My favorite is Paulaner, but right now I'm enjoying
a Becks. I also tryed some beers that were not German
but were wantabee oktoberfest, not as good as
those German beers.

For fancy family occasions, the men in the family will drink Becks or whatever else is brought in.
I really can't stand the taste of beer, I was a Schnapps taster myself.
But I do like to collect interesting German beer bottles.

There is a small brewery that has moved here from Colorado called Flying Dog I haven't tried ther Octber fest beer yet. But they have tastings every Saturday so I might give it a try today., Other than that I drink Yuenling Lager or Blak and Tan. Or If I can find it Bar Harbor from Maine it'sa Blueberry ale.

If it's available to you compare and contrast the tasty wholesome Czech version, with the anaemic St Louis version.

one of my favorite subjects!
lately I've been stuck on smithwicks, which is not an octoberfest beer, but its a darker ale, its great! especially in the fall, the other one I like is long trail harvest ale (another dark ale made with local ingredients) other than that, its usually molson (canadian, or golden golden) which are like my basic every day beers

Oh Morgan, you can do better than having a Molson Canadian. Even Coors is better than a Molson - JMHO.

Geckley, racefan(mike) drinks yuenling when he can get it
out here on the west coast they don't sell it.

Has anyone tryed Spaten Marzer Oktoberfest??

Any other Oktoberfest beers anyone likes??

Ahhh.,. German /Baverian biers ... If doesn't get much better than that!

I few of my favorites are:

Erdinger Dunkle Weisen.
Fransiskaner Dunkle
Paulener Weise Bier
Bittburger Pils

And... yes.. the Czech Budwiser is great!


If has been great to sample all of these fine beirs while working over in Germany.

For me, it is either Brooklyn Brewery's or Samuel Adams' Oktoberfest beers.
Can't believe it is October already with some leaves changing colors.....

Allen, I tryed Sam Adams oktoberfest at the tasting
did'nt care for it, but I can't seem to get a taste
for Sam's beers. I have another Paulaner I want to try.

After living in Bavaria for a while I had no favorite because it was all great!!
The one nightspot I remember had 77 brands of GERMAN beer available.
Try to pick from that.
And does everyone know Octoberfest is celebrated over there in September.
