Falling down and coumadin

can anyone remind me what the connection is? Is it that b/c someone is on coumadin and they fall, they are more prone to blood clots that we may not know about? My mom was out for a walk, when she tripped on something, and fell on her knees (she landed on her knees and hands). Luckily there isn't any bleeding, just a scrape on either knee... Should I be looking out for anything specific other than bruising, that might complicate or put her in a bad situation? Thanks in advance for your feedback. You all have been so helpful.

If she did not hit her head then about all that you can do is watch her. If she bleeds into her knee joint, you will likely know about it. It is extremely painful but at this point, it probably could not be prevented no matter what you do.
