In our part of New Mexico, most of the trees have needles, not leaves. But where water is plentiful, we have willows. In fact, the easiest and most reliable way to locate the many springs in our area is to wait for the fall, and observe the small splashes of yellow located in various places on the canyon walls.
In this picture the small Jemez river runs between the willow and the canyon wall. I am still pretty hobbled from whatever has hit my right leg. It is pretty frustrating to watch all these seasonal pictures pass me by.
