I had a procedure on my eyelid to have three skin tags removed on Friday. I met with the eye surgeon a few weeks prior and he read over my medical history. We talked about the coumadin and the fact that these skin tags have their own blood supply but he was not the least bit worried. I went and had it done (ouch on the numbing shots in the eyelid) and it bled for a bit but pressure and then the eye patch took care of it. My INR was 3.7 the night before. I always try to find a physician that will work with the coumadin rather than pulling you off for each procedure.

Good to know Kathleen. I have three tags also around my eyes and am almost to the point where I want them gone. Glad to know someone has gone before and survived to tell the tale.:D ;)

Glad he wasn't worried - he shouldn't have been. You'd have to wonder about any doctor who thinks you're at risk for bleeding to death from skin tag removals.:D But I'm sure they're out there. I've had moles removed while on Coumadin. The reality is for small procedures like that we're just talking about a small difference of time between a non-ACT person and an ACT person and their bleeding.

Yes it is, but listening to some of them, it's more like lopping off a head of something. One cut and the coumadin user will be propelled through space while squirting blood all over.
