Harpoon

So we got this new vending machine company supplying the breakroom at the office with a variety of treats, quick meals, and beverages...

The machines all have a few bugs to be worked out...

Want an egg roll?

Can't have it, the machine pulls the row back instead of feeding an eggroll to the drop slot.

How about a Snickers ice cream bar?

$43.85

Bag of Lays potato chips?

Everything in that row is locked in by a bar that bears a sticker which states, "REMOVE WHEN MACHINE IS INSTALLED"

Tony's Single Pepperoni Pizza?

Well that one will set you back $540.00....

Yup, just a few bugs to work out.

There's a coffee machine next to it, but don't get a large cup of coffee, it doesn't have any large cups so the coffee just spills all over the floor...

We've had these machines (and various problems with them) for well over a month now.

Real swift.

Sounds like a lucrative business to be in, right? Anyone want to partner up?

Providing food to workplace customers is big biz...and quality of service and food is almost always bad. That observation, combined w/ recent aggro you may recall over Cleveland Clinic's war on Pizza Hut and McDonald's has given me a great biz idea.

Front page Washington Post this AM-Toby Cosgrove has shuttered Pizza Hut but finding it tougher to knock down the Golden Arches in the lobby of his famed clinic. An RN says the food the clinic serves in its cafeteria isn't healthier and costs twice as much.A McDonald executive accused Cosgrove of opportunism and demogoguery targeting an easy villain rather than the individuals doing the eating.Cosgrove has also been accused of racism because the franchisee is African-American.Cosgroves next big battle is tobacco. He wants the clinic smoke-free by Independence Day. I see the Peter Principle at work here.

I think this is a bunch of crap. I believe it all goes back to the God complex this man has. I also believe that banning smoking "even outside" is also a bunch of crap. There will be many people waiting for loved ones going through very, very serious surgeries for very, very long periods of time. Many feel the need to smoke just to deal with what they and their loved ones are going through. It is a tense situation anyway and add to that the fact that those who smoke and want to get a bite to eat can't. I do not agree with this at all. I don't like Cosgrove anyway. He should keep his God complex in the OR.

I am going to start a business - a rolling burger and smoking lounge that will make regular stops on Euclid Avenue, to serve patients, families and CC employees as well. Patrons can board, enjoy a smoke and a bite to eat while I pull the trailer around the 'hood, then drop them off 10 minutes later. Everyone will be happy. Toby can stop promoting heart disease, Americans can exercise their rights, and I'll make a few bucks. Good ol' free enterprise!

Wanna invest?

:D Yeah, I'd say that those snacks are quite expensive. How is the soda machine? It is a wacky world we live in and those mistakes are man made one when the computer is not set right. There was a gas station is Missouri, the pump computer was not set right and was giving gas at 19 cents a gallon. It was like that for 24 hours. The news people had a hayday with that. Have a great day.

Still laughing

Still laughing

Thanks for the early morning laugh.

I can't remember the last time I read anything so funny--I don't have to cope with the machines so I'm still laughing.

Visually I see a large wastebasket set to catch the large sized coffee.

Hey, if you could also provide a WI-FI hotspot in that thing, you'd have all the laptop owners as customers! :D
