I think my time in the WR is about up. Went to cardiologist last week and did a stress test. I didn't get to finish the test as the tech stopped it. My heart rate goes up but my blood pressure goes down when I exercise. I have a feeling this is a deal breaker and will have to have surgery soon. Anyone else have this happen to you?

Personally, I haven't had a stress test in 6 years. A quick google search and you can ind information that says that this can be a risky test to perform if the stenosis is severe. You're likely not getting enough flow through the valve to keep you BP up during the increased demand during exercise.

My BP goes down with exercise, and it still does that even after the open heart surgery. For me it's normal. Sounds like for you it might be something to discuss with doctors. Good luck!

Definitely something to discuss with a trusted cardio. Normally BP elevates with exercise, and if it does not, they need to determine why not. I remember in cardio rehab they monitored for that, and if someone had that happen, they were sent back to their cardio before being allowed to proceed in rehab.

I would definitely get it evaluated.

My understanding is a blunted blood pressure response to a stress test is one finding that cardios look at to determine timing for surgery. How are your pressure gradients? Are you having symptoms? That also plays a key role in determining thee need for surgery. Of course, your cardio will know best. Good luck!
