It is some time since I have visited the site. Just recenlty I have noticed a signficant increase in sweating, especially when I excercise, play golf etc, I dont feel any discomfort other than this other than perhaps fatigue. I am sure this is not related in any way to my heart valve surgery but wondered if anyone else had experinced similair?

Thanks

Richard

Hi Richard-

It could be from lots of things, some which aren't much of a problem to some which might be an indicator of respiratory problems or heart things. I think if it were my husband, I would be on the phone first to his internal medicine physician and then to the cardiologist.

It seems like a benign thing, and I hope it is, but to be safe, have it thoroughly checked out.

Do you have any SOB with it?

There was a thread a little while ago on the same thing, I think it was on this site, but I know there was a thread on the WebMd site on either the Heart Disease Support forum, or the Congestive Heart Failure Forum. Maybe a search will bring it up.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Richard as Nancy suggests, there are so many things that can cause it. I sweat like crazy the moment a beam of sunlight hits me. Mine was from the medications I was taking coupled with a defective aortic valve. I'm talking drench sweats here.

I would certainly check it out with the Doc. It's all too easy to dehydrate when you sweat like that.

You might also have a thyroid problem. As said before, have it checked out.

Hard to say --

I sweat like a fire hose, especially when I'm exercising. Also as soon as I drink hot coffee it starts. I've always been this way, of course I've also had AS for some unknown number of years, so who knows if there is a connection. My cardio isn't at all worried about it, he just warns me to be sure to remain hydrated.

Did I ever tell you all how women get nervous and sweat at the site of me! Maybe it is my good looks, or my broad shoulders, rock hard abs, slightly bald receding hair line with the little gray they fine so distinguished, oh heck ... it could be numerous things ... my levis for instance and the way they make my butt look. My advice to women ... stay hydrated around me!! :D :D :D ;)

See ladies, your sweating right now!

Mark, do you remember that thread that you were trolling in? Pay back time!

Hey Elsiedog - Are you taking a beta blocker by any chance? Some of these can cause excessive perspiration/heat intolerance. Talk to your doc and maybe this or something else he prescribed is causing a problem. Chris
