:DHi all, I am back from my LAST you heard it LAST and did I mention LAST coumadin clinic visit!!! At least this one! I was perfectly in range at 3.8 and they wanted me to come back again in one week! Frigging stupid people...ugh! She said it was because I was on a hold dose last Monday, but I didnt tell them that I didnt hold it. She wanted last Mon's dose held because I was "way out of range" cough, dumass, cough, at 4.9. UGHHH so now they want me back in one week and I dont want to go, but they might hold my records hostage if I don't. Any thoughts?

Just call them next week and tell them you are not able to come in until the following week.;):D

If you were 3.8 today, don't do that change I was telling you about or you will be too low.

They can't hold your records hostage. The Federal HIPAA law (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), doesn't allow them to. They have to provide you with a copy of your records within a reasonable time, and for free or for only a nominal reproduction fee.

If they're that bad, you need to find another place, or work out how you're going to self-test. But I would guess you already know that.

Good luck!

Thanks Ross, Gina and togabotwo (sp?);
Ross, thanks I wont . Gina, I got what you are saying and I already cancelled <evil grin>! And Toga, yep I know I have to. Already got a new cardio appt in May. Thanks for the HIPPA info. Thanks all for responding. Still interested in hearing if anyone else has any thoughts.

I usually take the 'don't burn any bridges' course. You just might need them again some day for whatever reason so why leave on bad terms. If all it takes is one more visit, I would follow through, go the one more time and leave on good terms. Better to know if you ever have to return there, you won't have to slink in the door. Perhaps the 'worst offenders' will move onto other positions and it might actually turn into a competent clinic.

Good luck.
