I'm doing the happy dance and feel I have won the lottery.

New container of strips resulted in a successful test and in range.

It's only puzzling because the new strips are the same lot as the 4 causing the error. Hopefully that's the only flawed batch of 059 being used.

The XS strips that I tested were completely different from the strips that fit the CoaguChek or -S models.

One faulty quality control test caused the recall of the original Coaguchek strips (yet to be released). It has been 5 months! With faulty results.......wonder if there will be a recall on all of the new strips:confused:  Hummmmmm. INratio is sounding better and better.:)

I don't think that it was a quality control issue with the strips. There were a few that had a torn foil wrapper. Exposure to the air inactivates the thromboplastin.

The INR ratio is excellent but changing for this reason is not valid. What is to prevent their next batch of strips from having the same thing happen?

My guess is that Roche just decided to change over to making XS strips.

"S" strips available in Canada

"S" strips available in Canada

"S" strips were never withdrawn from the market here and are still available. At the time of the US withdrawal my pharmacy inadvertantly ordered and received "S" strips without a problem.

As I understand it the "S" was never approved for home testers in the US and maybe that's the reason the strips aren't available.

Can you say why the XS strips you tested are completely different fom the ones that fit the XS I have.

The target area for the blood was different. You could even apply blood from the sides of the strips.

Blood can be applied from the top or the side of the strips I have for my XS so may be they are the same or maybe I misread you previous post. "S" was top only and the side application was one of the reasons I went to XS

Cheers
