Testing today, got ERROR 441, on my first try. Second try got good reading.
Call into Hemosense tech no answer yet. Does anyone know what this means?
Its been a long time since I wasted a $10 strip

I use a CoaguChek, so can't help - it may be helpful to know what machine you are using, though.

Have you tried their website? they may have error codes listed there. I also know that mine can be "off" if it is too hot, too cold or too humid . . . just a thought.

hi marty

i just looked up your 441 error in my handbook.....here goes:

"The error number can be any combination of numerical digits. There was a problem with the test , or not enough sample was applied to the test strip. Repeat the test. If the error message repeats, call HemoSense Technical Support."

that's the best i can do for you, my friend.......

441 is a test strip data error.
Is the sample making it all the way to the top of the strips?
Are the electrodes lining up properly when inserted? You can tell when you take it out and look at them to see where the marks are.

It's definately test strip related. Call the folks at Hemosense. They are fantastic and might just send you new strips.

test strips are ten dollars each?? Do you need one strip per test?

Yeap. Its still worth it not to have to hassle to drive a distance, walk a distance, and sit amongst a bunch of people with all sorts of different germs.

I'll stick with my clinic INR test. It cost me nothing with my insurance.
I've had no problem with the clinic and now I just go once a month.
I guess I'm just cheap!!!:D

Yeah but you gotta drive to get there which equals $, then you gotta walk how far?, then you gotta sit with a bunch of sick people with all kinds of germs being spread about. I'll stick with home testing. :D

Finally got a call from hemosense tech, I think from India.

As usual, Ross is right. Its a strip error not anything wrong in the monitor itself.

Possible causes 1. monitor on uneven surface 2. movement of monitor during test 3. bubble in blood sample 4. Insufficient sample. In this case of mine I think it was a bubble. I use a capillary tube rather than hanging drop. It is possible to get a little air in the tube. If you squirt it on the strip, its
ERROR 441! Ouch! $10! Its still easier than going to the hospital for a blood vein stick and then the long wait for the results.
