Elena's surgery is over and looks good

Elena's surgery went well. She was in for about 4.5 hours yesterday and when we saw her in the CVICU following the surgery she was awake, but unfortunately in more pain then she thought. Her blood pressure looks great.....today she will probably be moved from CVICU into a private room. She has many family members here with her giving her support and love. Thank you all for the good thoughts, prayers and support you have provided from my sister.

Thank you for the update Marisa. Be sure they keep on top of the pain management. Hopefully someone from the family is staying with her throughout the day. Give them that task.

Let us know if anything changes and tell her to keep her chin up. It's all down hill from here.

I wish I could give her a real hug and not just a virtual one. She is having her surgery just across the Bay from me so I have been particularly interested in her progress.

Marisa, you are a great sister. Thanks for being there for her. I have two daughters, and they are as different as night and day. But let one of them come into bad times from anything and the other is there as quick as a cat. As a poppa, I like that!

Glad to hear Elena is on the other side of the mountain! The pain will improve as they get rid of all those tubes. It makes a big difference! It's so nice she has her family there for her.

Hi Elena and Marisa,
I'm so glad to hear the surgery went smoothly - I think we both hit panic overload at around the same time last year (getting all philosophical about Mac trucks - although for me it was panic about my boyfriend Jim having the surgery rather than going through it myself) and although I haven't replied to many of your posts I've been reading them all and it's great to know you're on the right side of the mountain now.
Hope all continues to go smoothly and uneventfully (if that's a word )
