Well here in my part of Ohio many people (including my parents) are still without power. This is a result of an ice storm last Wednesday.

My family lost our power early Wednesday and got it back after 72+ hours of no electric supply from the Electric Company. (Who in-fact has had lots of issues here in Ohio since two days before Christmas.)

The rush on generators has been amazing. I was able to locate some very nice large ones for my parents, brother, and my family. We were able to hard wire into the breaker boxes (with double throw safety's) and get our furnaces and some lights on, so we did better than most. Heck my family and I were watching cable TV in our home the other day, with no power supply other than our generator. Even able to take hot showers using the generator to run the well pump. Just had to turn off some larger items like the furnace during water usage.

Well I gotta run. Just thought I would update anyone wondering.

Have allot to clean-up around here. Looks like a tornado went through the area. Power lines and trees down everywhere we look.

Take care all.

Ben

I need a generator bad. Ours was out and of course, no oxygen concentrator to run. I used up nearly all my tanks before our power was back on.

Ross,

I may have a line on some very cheap generators. Allot of yahoo's around here didn't treat their new ones very well. A generator is one the most simple small engine's to repair.

I plan on buying a few of the "burnt' one's to fix and resell.
It seems everyone here is interested in a generator to be prepared for the next time this happens !

I'll keep you posted.

Please do Ben. It's bad when you have no water, no oxygen, no fridigator, and even worse, no internet!

I can't even imagine how scary it is for you to lose power while on oxygen. I cared for an elderly lady several years back who was on oxygen. Every time there was a storm I would call her to make sure she was OK. With technology the way it is now they should be able to come up with a long lasting power source that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

I can handle up to 24 hours with bottled oxygen (That's my entire supply) but beyond that, if there isn't any to be had, well...........
