After satisfying my cardiologist via a stress test, I entered a cardiac rehab program last week at a local hospital at the the recommendation of the cardiologist and surgeon. Since I’d been feeling pretty good the last few weeks, the limits they placed on me for the initial monitored load limits ( 5 lb dumbbells, 15 minutes on treadmill at level 1, etc) are a cold reminder that I still have a ways to (slowly) go. Having a 3 point heart monitor strapped on and exercising while surrounded by medical professionals is reassuring though. Can’t wait to graduate to the 10 pounders!
