I went in this morning to have a echo done. I haven't heard back from the doctor yet but I imagine the AVR is coming up a lot faster than I anticipated. The cardio told me at my last appointment in November that I would continue to get worse, that this was something that wasn't going to get better. I'll have to be honest that the last two months I have continually gone down hill. My SOB is so bad. I have come so close to fainting several times. I can feel it coming on so I sit down, but one of these days I might not be so lucky. I guess with everything else that is going on with me regarding health problems I was praying that this would just go away. Wishful thinking! :(

Glenda - Glad to see you had that echo done. It sounds like your symptoms have gotton worse and you already made the conclusion that the AVR is near. But wait for that Dr to help you make you decision, and it is your decision, not his/hers. So, I hope you get good news, but you already set me up to believe you are headed for surgery. Of course, getting rid of the SOB will really help you. Anyway, good luck.

Glenda,

I hope everything works in your favor so you can get this over with. It must be difficult dealing with multiple health problems, I hope they can get your new valve in...I think it will help your battle the other problems if you can handle the surgery. I will be thinking about you and say a prayer for you tonite.

Hi Glenda,
I think the one thing I have realized throughout my whole heart ordeal, is somethings you just cannot control. Everyone has different ways to handle the unknown; my way is thorough my faith in God. I remember I was not expected to have surgery for 5 to 15 years, and ended up so exhausted and fatigued, I had to have it done two years later.
Some people may be offended at what I am about to say, and quite frankly I really don't care ... the truth hurts and convicts. It is what you do with that conviction that matters.
"All things work for the good of those who love him." So my point being, that things may look down, and the road may be long ahead of you but you may rest in the fact that God will never leave your side. With that peace you can go forward knowing that you have the greatest physician and greatest couselor money can never buy.
Bad days come and go, and somedays we feel alone, but where really never alone, unless we choose to be. Smile and fight the good fight. Something good will come of all this. :)

Glenda, Sorry to hear that you have alot of health issues going on. All I can say is to take one thing at a time. Some things you have no control of and just must trust in God. It sounds like something will need to be done, with your near fainting episodes. Your cheerful face has helped keep my spirits up on this board, so we will try to do the same for you.

Thanks Bill, Bryan, Mark and Kathy for your kind words. Like I've said before, I have complete faith in God and I know that He is still in control. It's also wonderful to know the big picture. When we know that God is working in our lives, we can relax and be at peace with whatever comes our way. I know this personally. :) It's just that this old human mind gets in the way of that some of the times. Whatever happens, if any of my diseases end in death, I know that I will have victory over it. I know the end of the story!

I don't always understand God, but I do trust Him to do what He has promised. I also pray that God's will might be done in my life and that I will be able to hear and accept His direction. And I ask for added days to my life --- if it fits in His plan --- I know He can do that, too! :)

I have really come to peace with my decision to go ahead and have the AVR. The reason for that is because of all of you on this forum. You have encouraged me by the way you all have successfully come to the "other side of the mountain." And, I also believe in the power of prayer and I have prayers going up to heaven from every direction for me and I sincerely appreciate that.

Hi Glenda,

So sorry to hear you are facing this sooner, rather than later. No matter how many health problems you deal with, it never gets any easier does it. I'm sure being the lovely lady you are, that you have a wonderful support group to help you through this and the other issues you are dealing with.

As much as the prospect of surgery is something none of us like to contemplate, we can only have faith that the outcome will be worth the journey there.

Sending my best wishes your way....
Anna : )
