Take forum advice on this kind of stuff with a little grain of salt........that advice is what you pay cardios and surgeons for. Most on here try their best to give good advice.....but "whats good for the goose may not be good for the gandor" when it comes to these kind of testing results. Personally, I have no idea what they mean for you........and I understand only a few of mine when I see them.

Go with the medics, Pacers. It was only 2.5 years after my surgery that I even found out what kind of valve I have now!

The advice is spot on. I was concerned with the numbers on my echo but my Cardio told me that my heart was performing better than the numbers imply. I thought perhaps he was being optimistic so I got a second opinion, and that Dr told me the exact same thing. I mentioned this to the tech on my recent echo and she said that the Cardiologist could get much more out of the echo than she could. So now I just look for words like trivial, mild, moderate, and severe, and know that until my leaky valve becomes severe I don't need to be worrying about surgery. .

I just had another echo on April 24th ( been 1.5yrs ) and was waiting for results, since I did not hear from the Staff of my cardiologist I called Monday of this week and again today. Today I finally got a call back and was told my echo was in normal range but at the high end of the gradient . The person on the other end of the phone could not answer my questions as to what that meant so she set me up with an appointment , 2 weeks was the soonest I could get in. I have been feeling a little short of breath lately , I can walk on flat surfaces pretty good but a hill knocks me down. Part of that can be over weight and out of shape so been working on that one for the past month but hate to hang my hate on that, seems often I do. We all know our bodies better then anyone else and in my mind I have been winded way to soon and have noticed a little dizziness when being bent over , something I did not feel before. I may request more tests when I see the doc.

You need to go over the results with a professional, a trained Specialist, a cardiologist. This is the best advice anyone here can give you. Your cardio doctor should be able to explain what is happening, what is not happening, and if surgery is needed.
