can someone tell me what Left Atrial Enlargement means. What is the cut off point how do you know if you need to have surgery or not. That is what concerns me the most.

I've been trying since Tuesday to learn the significance of the velocity across my aortic valve (St. Jude). I've learned much, and still have to wait to ask the cardiologist what this is all about. There have been numerous extra posts on this, and various other websites referred to, all of which I've checked out, and most of which I haven't understood.
I hope your card has lots of answers for you, and takes the time to give you those answers.

Lisa you need to check with your Cardiologist. It may wait awhile and then again, it may not. Your lung condition is going to take some real heavy consideration on what and when they do anything. Below is a website that is even difficult for me to understand, but it's there for your use anyway:
