I have just discovered that eating and vr.com don't necessarily mix. I'm in front of my computer eating my cracked red wheat cereal mixed with shredded wheat. I've been checking out threads and got into the thread discussing under Heart Talk about Heart/Lung Machine and how they stop the heart during surgery. I soon realized that some of those words, i.e. blood, don't relay the best images during a meal. Not a complaint. I do know where I am and what I'm getting into here. Just hadn't thought about it before I sat down with this bowl of cereal. It got me tickled because I realized that this has in a way become a past time for me, like television. I think I may actually spend more time here than watching television though. I listen to television more than watch it. So, here I am again, mixing food and entertainment. Bad sign? Nah!! As long as I stay away from the blood and such when I'm eating. Just thought I'd share this over breakfast. Have a good day!

Umm, yeah. Do what I do, turn the T.V. on, listen to it, but read and laugh on here! ;)

Usually just coffee or tomato juice. Generally I don't eat at the keyboard. That way I have a reason to get my butt out of the chair and walk to the kitchen.

Coffee is a given for me. Starbucks rules! I grind mine at home. It's actually strong enough it should walk to me and save me the trouble of getting up. I usually eat fairly healthy, but love to talk about BAD food. Tomato juice. That's TOO healthy for me though.

Well I have this other problem too. If I get up and leave the chair, I usually have a fight on my hands getting it back. Seems my kitty likes to sleep in it when I leave and she gets very angry if you move her.

Ross, I too have kitty problems, but Miss Gracie Plushbottom thinks my purpose in life is to provide a soft lap for her to live in. She gets very upset if I get up! And then forget reclaiming her seat! And by then Tigre has joined her.

My problem is named Jet. Not so much that she takes my seat, but as soon as I sit down she wants something...making me figure out what that something is, is her favorite past time. Of course, if I left my food unattended she would be on my desk with her face in my bowl.

Samatha Jane is the a combo of both of yours. If I'm in the chair and she's outside, sure enough, she's scratching on the window wanting in. Drives me nuts because it's like fingernails down the chalkboard! Then if she is in and I'm in the chair, she wants held. She then claws her way up my arm to my face and insists I hold her at chest level while trying to type. If I leave the seat, it's taken immediately. I cannot win!

I would love to see you typing with Samantha Jane staring you in the face!! LOL...you seem like you're getting the hang of it though.

I'll have to figure a way out of taking a webcam shot when she does it.

Our computer is in "The Computer Room" at home. Cats not allowed in it!!
At our other home, we did let cats in The Computer Room. Until a litter of Abyssinian kittens destroyed the mouse. Cats would sit on my shoulder while I was typing. One did not like me to use the computer; she would stretch her paw out and try to turn my head around to look at her.

We don't jokingly call them Abysillians for nothin'.

I love that...Abysillians!! I wish Jet would just sit on my shoulder. She likes to sit in front of the monitor. They know what is getting the attention they deserve, don't they?!

It seems I always have one of my cats trying to help me when I'm on the computer. One of them likes to lay over the keyboard.

I too don't "watch" much TV. I listen to programs while I sit at the computer. I often have something to drink handy but not food. I think keyboards are pretty dirty places so eating finger foods here never seems like such a good idea. Cereal seems OK though except one of my cats would be waiting for the milk left at the bottom of the bowl and I would have no peace eating it whatsoever. Medical stuff doesn't mess up my appetite though. I have to remind myself sometimes as to what is appropiate dinner time conversation as my husband doesn't like medical things. My sons never minded it but they grew up with medical discussions.

Got into the habit of not allowing drinks around the computer keyboard when two (I mean two different) guys spilled coffee onto and into the keyboard. Good thing they didn't have to pay for it. Computer guy wasn't too happy the second time he had to replace. I have a desk that sits behind me that I keep my drinks on (usually water or flavored water).

Got a cat that thinks he owns the computer chair too. Names Midnight (can't guess the color!!!). He's laying on the floor next to me right now waiting (still patient--surprise) for me to feed him. I've just about gotten him broke from jumping up into the chair everytime I get up. Nothing (well almost nothing) worse than trying to sit in a chair occupied by a 25+ pound cat. Thank goodness he doesn't have front claws. He doesn't seem to enjoy the experience either.

May God Bless,

Danny

My Abysillians don't wait for me to decide to feed them. I feed them on disposable foam plates. If I don't throw the plates away and they get hungry again, Sokaris (the smart one) picks up the empty plate and carries it into the computer/TV room, drops it and meows at me.

I've got two cats, one steals my computer chair all the time and the second I kick him off he takes his declawed paws and scratches the chair like he would a post and mews for about 5 mins. And my other cat Tigger, HATES when I'm on the computer. He'll do everything he can to get me to pay attention to him when I'm on it. Walks in front of the computer screen, lays on the keyboard, sits on the back of my chair and slaps his tail at me. The funniest thing ever...he loves to play fetch and every once in awhile, he'll bring his little ball up and drop it in my lap. Thats when all else fails...his last resort :D
