I had four drainage tubes this time :( and on the skin, they appear to be fully healed and scars are barely red. But I'm feeling discomfort from them still. Not exactly pain but an awareness about them and there are times it concerns me as I can't figure out why I'd even notice at 10 weeks. I wonder if there isn't something going on internally. Last time I had three drainage tubes and I barely noticed the wounds (once the tubes had been pulled).

Anyone else have this sort of discomfort this far out from surgery?

All wounds heal with scar tissue that will contract over a period of six months. Sometimes this is felt as a drawing feeling or sticking feeling which will pass. If a feeling or discomfort begins to progress it is abnormal and should be followed closely. Any drain tract can get infected later. I once had a patient get a drain tract infected 12 months post op. Of course his surgery was for an infected case- ruptured diverticulitis.

Thank you, Scapel. Very much appreciate the information. I see my cardio in two weeks and if I still have this feeling I will mention it to him. It isn't getting any worse but is still present.
