Hi!
Donna underwent valve replacement surgery this morning. She elected to go with the St. Judes valve. She's still kind of out of it, but her Doctor - Dr. Singh - told me that she went through it well and that she expects to be discharged on Monday.
She was very grateful for all of the information she got from various contributors to these forums and she was particularly pleased with all of the encouraging messages from wellwishers using this site.

Thanks

Paul

Hi Paul and thank you for informing us and letting us know.

She'll be out of it for a while yet, so please bare with her. If there is anything we can do to help you or her, just post again and someone will be with you.

Give her our love and encouragement. :)

Wonderful news, Paul. Now you can crash a little, because when she gets home, you'll be quite busy.

I'm sure you're relieved. So rest and relax. Thanks for letting us know.

Hey, Paul - nice to meet you. So glad for you both that Donna is over the mountain and down on our side where the weather is much better.

Donna: You take advantage of all the hospital has to offer you - pain pills, nursing, walking, rest, and then before you know it you will be home in your own bed - with Paul. We will be right here waiting for you when you are able to post again. God bless

Hi Paul,

So glad to hear that all went well, and that she's on the other side. Just bare with her for a few days, but she'll do fine. I am sure they'll make her get out of bed tomorrow and she'll be walking the mall on the arm of the nurses.
Thanks also for calling me personally to let me know how everything went, and that the surgeon was pleased with the results.
Glad I could be of help to you both. Call me when you need to.

Wishing her a speedy recovery!

We are really happy for the good words about Donna's surgery. She will improve some each day and get stronger. You be sure to get plenty of sleep and take care of yourself. It is usually pretty hard on the family to go through this.

Thanks for keeping us posted. We really feel attached to the other members here and like to keep up with their progress. If you folks haven't done it, I recommend reading some of the older threads about care and sleeping, etc after coming home. Most of us slept in some recliner or a big "nest of pillows" since reclining flat was just too uncomfortable.

Thanks again, and best wishes to you both.

Hi Paul

So glad to hear Donna made it through ok!!! Everyone is right, she'll be out of it for a few days. So important, the spriometer. As much as it hurts, please make sure she uses it often. You rest, too, you've both been through quite an ordeal. Naps are very good for all concerned.
