I know some of you are animal lovers. Our Maggie, Westie almost age 8 years, had a ruptured cruixate ligament repaired 10 weeks ago. At that time, the surgeon said if one knee is bad, the other one probably will be also. He was right. Maggie had her other cruxiate ligament rebuilt today plus the vet found her lateral meniscus was torn -- which is rare in a dog. Vet called about 8PM to let us know that surgery was more complicated than anticipated. If her pain is under control, she can come home tomorrow.

Sure sounds like you have a competant and caring vet. I'm sure Maggie is in good hands, and will be home raising a ruckus soon.

We pray for our four-legged children just as we do for the two-legged ones.

I can certainly empathize with you. But isn't it good that your baby will be home soon and in good condition again.

Daughter has a wee doggie who has wrong legs. He was used exclusively as a stud - never allowed out of his cage except to produce. The people(business) that was using him, found out that he had a fault in his legs and was spreading it to his offspring so they wanted to get rid of him because he was of no use re $. Daughter adopted him - after an animal rights group came to inspect her, the house, etc and approved her. He didn't even know how to 'go' outside. That was several years ago and poor little London still won't 'go' in the grass, only on concrete. He is very quiet, seldom barks. A true story of lack of attention showing up in personality. And a true story of the love of humans for animals.

Hope your baby continues to improve every day.

Glad to hear the surgery went well and that Miss Mags will be home with you soon. The trick will be to keep her quiet!!!!! So glad your news is good.

Hope Maggie is feeling better soon. It must be so painful to have those leg problems. I know she'll get lots of TLC from you. She's got a wonderful mama.

Well westies are a hardy breed. I have a female westie that is 16 yrs and still going strong. Hopefully, yours will be around that long or longer!

Lab,

Here's hoping that Maggie is back on all four paws soon! :)

I hope Maggie is feeling better. when we were given our Papillon (by daughter coming up 4 year now)..after our beloved Shitzu died 3 months earlier)..said, Mom, all old people need a dog :p :p ........We were told that thier little thin legs were something to watch. ....thankfully, he has had no problems. ;) Of course, he is a leash dog..If the front door was left open. He would not go out. ...I know when our Shitzu was so sick his last year, I thought we were going to have to sell the house to pay for his vet bills at the University Of Ga. Vet school. The best and gave us another year with him. ;) ..Ev I cannot read the Rainbow Poem without crying..but, I do believe that they will all be there waiting for us. ;) 7 dogs and 5 cats. And all lived to thier ripe old age. ;) ..Bonnie
