I was schedule 6 months ago for a full Annual Exam..Everything was great..Blood tests, doctor in and out of exam room, questions asked by nurse..NO, NO., NO..and on and on. Finally I said to my doctor after he finally spent 3 minutes looking at my ears, throat, gagged LOL. Hate those wooden sticks. listening to my heart, b/p, ect. Then he says, Miss Bonnie You had a normal exam..I said, good ..let's do the pap smear now?..Oh, no, he says, you are 2 weeks short of last year and insurance will not pay for More than 1 a year..Yikes..Why didn't the Nurse who scheduled me 6 months ago..Notice the date of when I went in last year???? I had no idea of what was on my calendar..so I had to come home and look up 6 weeks from now..just to go back for Pap Smear..More Office fees?.....Also..Was late going back because there were 6 Drug Sellers..in Office trying to get back to see him. And yes. they went back before me. :( There were only 6 people in waiting room with me..and when I came outside 1 hour later. Every chair was full. What was strange. he said if my pap smear and Mammo (which I will have to go elsewhere) were clean. He would only schedule me for them every 2 years.  Bonnie

Please Bonnie, INSIST on having both of those test each and every year.

My breast cancer came on within the year between exams and it grew to a good size in that amount of time. Not that I want to scare anyone, but if I had let it go, I just don't know what would have happened.

It's way to dangerous to schedule every other year. I really think they ought to do mammos every 6 months. It would catch more cancers early on when women wouldn't have to go through as aggressive a treatment plan as I did.

Plus do not SETTLE for just any old mammo. Get the best one available at a breast center. Digital mammo found mine. I don't believe that a lesser mammo would have caught it.

Better safe than sorry!

Better safe than sorry!

I'm 39 and I get these two exams done every year just to make sure. I'm going to see my gynaecologist tomorrow to see why my period was one month late this time. It's never happened before! Any idea?
