The prognosis from the results of my recent echo is that my consultant and her team think it is still not yet time for surgery. They want to continue to monitor closely.
My consultant said in an email the other day, she would now like to do a dobutamine stress echo rather than another treadmill echo. She thinks this will help her see what happens to my gradient during the ‘stress’.
I’ll have dobutamine dripped into my bloodstream. This will cause an incremental and substantial heart rate increase while being echo monitored.
Does anyone have any experience of a dobutamine test?
Any adverse effects?
Or all relatively straight forward?
