This is our newest family member. I picked her up this week from the shelter. Since she was picked up as a stray they were not really sure how old she is but guessed between 1-2 years old. She's a terrier mix. I see Yorkie in her?? Daisy Mae is her name. :)

Thank you! :)

She is so well behaved & is house broken. I know she had to have belonged to someone that cared for her but unfortunately there were no tags or anything on her when found. She was spayed this week before I picked her up & they had already bathed & groomed her. And she was microchipped too.

I hope that's as big as she's going to get --- I think so though.

Norma, A cute addition to the family! :) Looks like she is feeling right at home. Is she getting along with the other dogs? Looks like she'll be a med size dog. Just the size to fit in your lap!!

You think Yorkie? I'm thinking some cairn, because of the short coat, as well as its color and wiry texture, plus somebody with longer legs...anybody's guess where those legs came from! She's cute, though.

I've seen Yorkie crossed with JRT looking like that....longer legs and nose....cute for sure.
Also, we have a couple of Cairns around here that look similar, but like Laurie said, they are shorter.

I agree about the touch of cairn. Not that it really matters - she looks a sweetheart.

All three of my dogs were rescues. 2 were going to be put down because of behaviour issues but as we live in the sticks, plenty of room, no kids etc., we decided to give them a chance. They're both really ancient now - one is as deaf as a post and the other I swear is suffering from alzheimers. But they've still got some life in them.

Norm:

I am a mother and I love her face. Does that count?

As long as I can remember, we have had shelter animals or other lost cats sharing our life and space. Once, we had one whose face felt uglier than sin to me. Non the less, Albert thought he was beautiful. That cat just tolerated me, but nicely.

Maybe he thought I was uglier than sin????Do you suppose?

OH, she is so cute! I want another dog so bad but I'm just not over losing my precious "Lady" dog yet and my little dog is so old, she's deaf, almost blind and doesn't get around very well at all. It just wouldn't be fair to her right now. Maybe after she is gone. I also have a cat that probably woudln't tolerate a new puppy or dog right now. But she is a keeper, she's so lucky that you found her.

I love your little dog. Once Joe and I adopted a cat from the shelter. We deliberately picked the ugliest cat in there because we both knew that no one else would select her and she would be put down. She lived a very long time and was a sweet cat.

Joe loved animals as much as I do.

Your dog will have a very happy home.

We have a Cairn and even though her color is Yorkie, if her coat is coarse when it grows back in, then it's Cairn. Yorkies have soft coats. English Cairns are larger than American, so perhaps this explains the longer legs? She looks very much like our Cairn when he is all wet!! (although he is dark and brindle) Also, this is the color of the Norwich terrier, so there could be some of that in her, too.

At any rate...good choice! Terriers can be little terrors, but they are loving and adorable. Thank you for choosing to give her a good life!

Best wishes.
