I like their really old stuff; like 2112.
Im mostly into alternative and grunge like Pearl Jam,Alice In Chains, but I
enjoy almost everything except country and jazz-to my husband's dismay,
he is a big jazz fan. But , oh well , he doesnt like the Smashing Pumpkins,
so we're even- Dina

WOW!!! He can really play those drums. I've never seen so many cymbals.
Sorry, I never really listen to that group Rush before.
Thought, maybe that was you playing those drums Ross.:D Any ways thanks for sharing it was good.

Yeah, 2112 rings a bell...I think that's the one I used to listen to "back in the day":D I didn't know they were still around...or are they? Pretty awesome drumming at any rate.

oh Ross, the wedding's off! I can't stand Geddy Lee's squealing!! Now, Rage Against the Machine - THERE'S a truly legendary voice and band!

I saw Rush live at one of the Monsters of Rock festivals - which they were called in the olden days when I went to them :D They are now Download festival which both my boys go to every year.

They were pants I'm afraid. As were Motley Crue. Hawkwind were awesome...

Nope, sorry Rosster, gotta say, Rush are cr*p :D

Do any of you like RUSH? No sorry Ross, they do nothing for me. That other Toronto product Neil Young though. He's the Daddy.

Well maybe you don't care for Rush, but what about this dudes drumming ability? I'm just slightly impressed with him myself.

Last week the original drummer from Rush died....he was 57-ish and had complications from juvenile diabetes.

John Rutsey. For all practical purposes, I've only known Neil Peart to be their drummer. I guess John was the one who formed the band in the late 60's.

MY first thought when I saw this thread was that it was about Rush Limbaugh! :)

What does that tell you?

I thought the exact same thing:D. In addition, before I clicked on the link, I thought it may be about some guy talking about the disadvantages of subdivisions. I thought this has got be different.

Sorry to disappoint a few of you. I love drumming and I love great drummers. These two are awfully hard to beat.

Rush

Rush

Rush are brilliant, the lyrics, the timing, the scale, just pure genius. Seen them live in concert twice up here in Glasgow. As for Neil Peart's drumming there is no better. Geddy Lee certainly has a unique voice but the band play well together. They've been together for about 30 years now and here's hoping they have many more. :)

I know many will disagree, but I think Lars Ulrich of Metallica is also
at the top of the list as far as drummers go_Or is it just that he is
louder than anyone else:rolleyes:

No, Lars has his spot in the top players list.
