I know there are several books available, dealing with heart surgery. Some reviewers sound like these may not be that helpful. If you read one and really benefited, I'd be interested in knowing.
 
"Coping with Heart Surgery and Bypassing Depression" by Carol Copland: https://www.amazon.com/Coping-Heart-...+heart+surgery Very good at explaining heart surgery and the kinds of questions etc that are usful to ask. Also extremely good on the aftercare for when you get home.

(Depressed here as just found out UK has voted to leave the EU - our economy is going to be badly hit in all sorts of ways)
