Did anyone have to low of blood pressure after valve replace ment

My dad just got out of surgery about 3 hours ago, and they said his blood pressure drop durning surgery, and they gave him meds for it and brought it back up ,and they are still giving him meds for the low blood pressure , is this common after surgery ?they say he is resonding well to the meds ,if he didn't they said that would become a problem ,so my qustion is is this common or not? Hi Linda it was very common for me and they eyed the monitor
for days and my heart rate was very low too.
They also were watching me for a-fib cus i had a maze done,but i feel for all a
person goes through it is normal.
someone else with more experience will cut in here eventually with better answer.
It lasted some time for me,i don't know if they gave me drugs for this or not in
icu but they know their work in there and look after everything.
Glad your dad is out of surgery...continued prayers for all.

Linda, I just responded to the same question in your other thread. Do not worry, it is normal. The body has gone through a big trauma and it reacts differently from one person to another to the surgery. Your dad shall be fine.

It's fairly common. I had low blood pressure for weeks after the surgery, but it didn't last. Now I'm back on meds for high blood pressure.
