I went for a stress echo in January and I didn?t feel too good afterward. I thought it would go away after a week or two but it hasn?t. I have had an aortic regurgitation for a long time and hoped for a few more years till the operation but now I feel that it?s time to go.
Has anyone had a similar experience with stress echo?

Alan - sounds like you are getting ready for the climb. Have you talked this over with your dr? I doubt the stress test caused the rapid increase, but who knows? Anyhow, you probably need to confer w/your cardio. Soon. Let us know. Blessins....

Joe had a stress echo using dobutamine and did not feel well for about a week. He's OK now, and it's been about 6 months or more. His did not show anything remarkable (for him).

What did the report show? And what does your doctor say?

The nuclear stress test

Made me sick for about a week, sick to the stomache and general lousy feeling. I didnt like it. :(

I didn't have any problem after my stress test. I don't think it would cause the valve to get worst. If the test was done for a long period of time it would cause added stress on the heart, but normally they stop the test as soon as your heart rate gets up to where they want it, or if your EKG shows changes that indicate your heart is not getting the oxygen it needs. It seems that the test is harder on people that can't do the threadmill and have to have the medication to get their heart rate up .

If I remember right.....I had a thallium type stress test and became very short of breath during it. That was on a Thursday. The next morning I still was so short of breath I went to my PCP. My PCP and cardio conferred and I was sent home for bedrest and a Cath on Monday AM. I did have some sort of upper respiratory infection at the time and I think everything combined was too much. I think it was at a time when my symptoms were getting worse anyway so I'm not sure if the stress test actually accelerated anything or not.

If you are starting to feel that it is time it most likely is. Listen to your body.
