I don't know how I missed your original post, but when I checked your profile in anticipation of starting this surgery thread, I was delighted to see where you hail from! My best friend in the world, now departed, grew up near you.

You have a great surgeon and a good facility for your replacement, and I believe that they will be able to successfully deal with the complicating factors that are facing you.
I hope your mother is able to update us after surgery. We will worry until we receive word that all is well.
