Dental Scalling

Question -

I just had root scaling done, and stayed on my warfarin. I have a artificial aortic valve (st judes). I did my usual pre-medication - but even if it is bleeding afterwards the doctor feels I don't need any more antibiotics. Is it normal for dental work just to pre-medicate and no additional drugs required?

Last time I had this I just had premeds. Nothing afterward.

Just being on 325 mg aspirin I had what seemed like significant bleeding from my gums, so I'm not sure that part is alarming, I think it's from the aggressiveness of the scaling process itself let alone effects of blood thinners. It resolved by the next day.
