hi all!
joey met with his cardiologist this afternoon and got a wonderfully clean bill of health_ thank God!!
his echo showed that the fistula he has that is leaking, seems to be leaking less than 6 months ago. in addition, his heart has gone down in size and seems to be in tip-top shape (he is running a fast 4-5 miles about 3 or 4 times a week and biking 2 days and tennis too). the doc was thrilled with the surgical results.
also, his cholesterol is 204, but his hdl is extremely high (must be the running and the red wine!!). his homocysteine levels (folic acid), which he has had trouble with in the past, are great,as is his thyroid (he takes amiodarone and that has really affected his thyroid levels this year).
he will be going for his "lung capacity test" (?) to make sure the amiodarone is not harming his lungs (the cardio said that his lungs sound clear and strong_ the running!). and, his cardio also said that he can start cutting down on the amiodarone to see how he feels and eventually wean off it. if he should go into afib, they will cardiovert him, coumadin treat him and back on a very low dose of the amio.
so, all in all, i am one happy wife!!! he is one happy patient.
i wish this for all of you _ good things and good news. this kind of stuff makes it all worth it, no?
be well all of you, sylvia
