Post mechanical AVR... Slept a solid 7 hours last night which was my first night at home. Only woke up to go to the bathroom. Went for a 1.25 mile walk and could have kept going. Ate a great breakfast fixed by my awesome wife. (she is doing great with the whole thing). We are doing another walk this afternoon. We also have my two-year olds birthday party and a mothers day dinner. I'm very blessed.

So very happy to see that you are doing so wonderful! That's what it's all about....living and loving life and appreciating everything around you!

God bless you and stay well!!! :)

GREAT JOB!!!! I found that, for me at least the first night back was the scariest, so it's really good to hear that you got a full 7 hours in!!!

Sounds like you have a terrific wife, my husband and I found a greater appreciation for each other throughout the whole recovery process.

1.25 mile walk - that's AWESOME - keep it up - you'll be back running (after you completely heal) before you know it!!!

Very cool. You are doing awesome!!!!! You should make for great competition for me. I am 6 weeks ahead of you so we can compare your weeks to mine.

Day 5? AWESOME! I was still in the hospital putting around the ward and totally unable to sleep.

So pleased to hear how well everything is going,
But take it easy!!
Love Sarah xxxx

Just don't overdo it, you just had surgery and got home. You will be feeling today. Just take it one day at a time and do not rush the body in the healing, it will at its own pace. Just be good to your body and listen to it. You are in good spirits. Hugs for today.

You are definitely a benchmark for a good recovery! Competition definitely makes everyone better so I'll take you up on that.

Ahh, the power of youth! Congratulations on your most successful surgery and recovery. Just be aware of what your body tells you and don't be afraid to give it a break when it asks. You feel like superman today, but recovery may not be linear. Not to downplay the value of your progress, just reminding you that if recovery does veer off course, don't become discouraged.

Oh, and do keep pressing it. TheGymGuy needs some competition, and we middle-agers (I'm 64) aren't going to do it!

Sleeping at home is just so much better. Naps are good to. I never took them before the surgery. Today was my first day back at work. I took a little nap right at my desk. Not sure how long it was until I caught myself.
