This poll is spurred by a question about taking the same dose every day. Please vote for your dosing preferance, as well as the number of sizes of warfarin tabs you have Rx's for.

I stock 5mg and 6mg by prescription, and I currently have a bottle of 4mg that a friend gave me. My weekly dosage hovers around 44mg, which means 6mg a daily with a few 7mg days thrown in.

I stock 5's and split for 2.5's. I alternate them to get the weekly dose. A 10% change is accomplished by switching a 5 to 2.5 or vice versa..
Ditto for me!

No options for alternating dosage? Same amount over the week, but alternate days.

Ross - that's what this option was meant to imply "I use whatever pill combination is easiest to arrive at my weekly dose. "

If you can think of a clearer wording, would you change it?

I may need to add a vote for Tommy. He voted on pill size, but not which way, so I added one for him to the poll also.

Work your wizardry.:)

I voted about my weekly dosaging but didn't vote on the strength of the pills that I keep on hand to do it. I keep 10's, 2's and 1's. That allows me several different dosing options. LINDA

Ross - could you add her vote to the 2 or 3 size tabs option? Thanks dearie!

I need the 2 or 3 different sizes also. I only voted on how I dose.

Nathan takes 5 mg a day, 7 days a week; Talk about easy!

He has not really monkeyed with his dose at all yet....even with adding the Zetia (yes yes you guys were right, AGAIN!)

He has on hand two bottles if 2.5s....not even sure why we wound up with the 2, but we have them.

I think this poll should be diveded into TWO parts,
the questions about how you dose
and the questions about how many different doses you have.

For several years, I used 3's and 1's to mix my daily doses to 3 or 3.5 or 4.0 as needed. Recently I added 4's (since that just happens to be my current daily dose). This allows me to use only ONE pill per day (lower co-pay).

BTW, breaking the 1's into halves also allowed me to 'stock up' giving me a 'back-up' supply at / after re-order time (3 month mail-order supply).

BTW #2 It is MUCH easier to break Generic Warfarin tablets from BARR or TARO than the name-brand Coumadin tablets.

Don't know how to vote?

I only have the 5 mg...always in range..but if I do test..like say. 3.8..drink a V8 juice..but never test again for another 3 weeks.I never bruise bleed, ect. so I know I'm in range.:) Now, when I had my dental surgery and skipped a dose..Tested 3 days later.Around the 2.3 range..I tweaked.:p Just a little bite off of another 5 mg.( I have those in a separate pill box.):p Lots of those Twinkies laying there..:D Need to use them..Before they get too old.:p .....Off the subject. but, I finally got my Clinical Nurse to give me a 6 month refill...Been 4 months for a year..but, she told me, you are so good about calling in... My new Pharmacist told me..You are lucky. Most of my coumadin people only get a 1 month refill...Most of them must be the elderly..who do not hometest or go in for their Protime....so, they have to go to their doctors for refills.
