I just got back from another appointment with Dad's surgeon. The surgeon said all tests he did Tuesday look good other than the pulmonary test but said that was expected with dad's problems.

Dad goes tomorrow morning for the pre-surgery bloodwork & the surgery will be Monday morning! It was good to hear the surgeon say he does not foresee any complications & dad should be able to make a full recovery.

He did say that dad is looking at a quadruple bypass rather than just a triple.

Dad is definately in alot better spirits after this mornings appt. His main concern is going home afterwards & mom not being able to care for him & him not being able to do it himself.

I put him on the calendar and will start a thread of good wishes this weekend.

I am so pleased to learn that your dad is finally going to get the medical/surgical help he has needed. I will keep you guys in my prayers for Monday. I know he will come thru this with flying colors.:)

Good luck to you and your Dad! One question to you or anybody that can answer. Is pulmonary function test normal before open heart surgery? I hope your Dad the best!

The first surgeon that ended up refusing his surgery did not do the pulmonary test. I am not sure if it is normally done or not.

Hopefully the hospital will have wireless internet so I can carry my laptop up there to use to pass the time & post updates.
