7 month after mitral valve repair the pvcs are becoming less frequent yet I still suffer from ainus tachycardia the dictors told me to walk daily for an hour and drink water for about a month to see qhat will happen ira been a week and I dont feel any better I still have a resting heart rate of 87 and when I do any mild activity like climbing stairs my heart rate jumpa to 145 very quickly . Anyway now I know whats wrong but did anyway experience this issue post surgery and did it resolve on its own?

Are you on any medications to regulate heart rhythm? Like Beta Blockers? It sounds like you need more than just walking and water. But maybe they're thinking you still need time for healing. This is TOTALLY just MY OPINION, But you may want to talk to your Drs again and let them know you're still having problems and ask about meds to help regulate the heart better if you're not on any.

Hang in there and rest between the walking! Good luck with your recovery.

I was wondering about beta blockers too. I'm less than 3 weeks post op, but with the medication my resting heart rate is lower now than before surgery.

A little over a year and a half after AVR, taking small doses of beta blocker and ace inhibitor, my resting heart rate is usually below 60 and my bp is about 105/70. PVCs, which were a problem for the first couple of months, are gone (as far as I can tell).
