I wouldn't see why not. The only bleeding there is, is from irritation of the soft tissues. Check with Al Capshaw to be sure or of course, Al Lodwick.

Warfarin OK--antibiotic?

Warfarin OK--antibiotic?

I don't think it is necessary to come off warfarin for this test but would check about antibiotic requirements.

Thank you for the link Ross. There is another member that has faced similar issues. Gail... aka, "Creed". I am hoping she will give me her 2 cents.:)

Stopping warfarin for a cystoscopy probably led to my Dad's death. I was not a warfarin specilaist at the time and was not living near him, so I can only say probably. I think that he got a clot in his leg when the warfarin was stopped and the clot went to his lung and killed him. He only lived long enough to say to my Mom, "I don't feel good." and he collapsed to the floor and was dead.

Hi Al,

So sorry to hear about your father. It's unfortunate we can't make the calls and sign some sort of a waver before proceedure. Not holing the MD's responsible for a "potential" bleed. As you always say. Bleeding can be controlled. Clotting is more difficult.
