Crestor isn't the only one that is dangerous. I don't think any of them are safe, but unless your numbers are sky high, don't let your Doctors put you on the stuff.

I've been having luck with lowering my cholesterol by just altering my diet slightly. I really don't want to go on one of those nasty drugs.

So far so good.

I took it ffor a short amount time. That is some bad stuff. I talked to a lawyer and he said, there will be lawsuits against this drug soon. But all statin drugs are bad news as far aad I am concerned.

I've posted this before, but its worthy of a repeat. I took Crestor for a little while, reluctantly, because I read the data sheet. Crestor can make your INR zoom after about two weeks for those of you on coumadin. It also failed to pass my muscle cramp test and after three weeks, I notified my Cardio that I was discontinuing usage. I'm currently on Zocor at a dosage of 20 mg/day and that is about as much as the old body can take without cramps. Don't be totally negative on the statins guys, they do have a stellar record in clinical trials. Long term effects ? What do you get when you cross and elephant and a Rhino --- an Elephino ????? :D

Crestor

I have listened and read on some information drugs like crestor and they are all receommending it also to diabetics also. I feel that if your numbers are normal, don't take something that could hurt you later. I have gotten information in one of my meds, depo-provera, that it could be depleting my bone mass. I will be asking the doctor questions on that in October. Always ask questions when in doubt. Thanks for the information. Keep us all informed. Thanks again.

I was prescribed Lipitor because I have two vessels with stenosis in hopes it will forstall further narrowing. I have never had elevated cholesterol levels. It is thought the narrowings are quite possibly the result of some radiation treatments I had as a teenager. I have very clear vessels except for these two ostial (at the area one vessel attaches to another) lesions.

I'm not sold about being on it. I may soon be off it permamently.

Crestor (rosuvastatin)
Audience: Physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals
FDA issued a Public Health Advisory notifying healthcare professionals of a revised package insert for use in the 22 member states of the European Union (EU). The changes to the European labeling are in response to adverse event reports in patients receiving Crestor and highlight certain patient populations who may be at an increased risk for serious muscle toxicity (myopathy) associated with Crestor use, especially at the highest approved dose of 40 mg. These risk factors and many of the recommendations for how to minimize the risk of myopathy are already captured in the FDA approved labeling for Crestor in the U.S. FDA alerted physicians to carefully read the Crestor product label and follow the recommendations for starting doses, dose adjustments, and maximum daily doses to minimize the risk of myopathy in individual patients.
